This week in our continuing series on Romans we are looking at Romans 8:26-27, "The Spirits Groanings."
Have you ever prayed for things and they haven’t happened? Have you ever been in a situation where you haven’t known how to pray? What to do in a situation? We will all encounter situations that are perplexing, beyond our wisdom and resources to know what to say, do or even pray. The Holy Spirit turns our prayers, our groanings in such a way as the Holy Spirit is doing the groanings to bring about God's will.

Our own spirits groan for the longing of the fullness of fellowship with God that will come one day. Until then, God's Holy Spirit dwells within us as a reminder of this hope that we have. We are also reminded that God longs to bring mankind into this fullness of fellowship again - just as we had in the Garden of Eden before sin entered the world; just as God dwelt in the centre of the Israelite camp in the wilderness or in the Holy of Holies in the Temple. So too we are living stones where once again God dwells within us until that day when all sin is gone and we are in his presence again.
