What Jesus speaks about in the Beatitudes is also what he proclaims when he reads the Scripture from Isaiah 61 - He has come to bring renewal and solace to the poor and the weary. We are to look to Jesus as the Israelites looked to the Year of Jubilee: a time of restoration. As we look to that restoration through the saving grace of Jesus, we are also to come in repentance. - Luke 4:16-21
