111: 25-02-2024 The Jesus Manifesto (Part 15) Where is God In All Of This?

By the 1st century AD, the teachers of the Law had reinterpreted God's instructions (Deuteronomy 24:1-4) and were permitting divorce for any reason.  God hates divorce.  He neither commands it or condones it.  But He recognises its existence in our fallen world, hence Scriptures such as Deuteronomy 24:1-4 and Exodus 21:10-11.  Jesus corrects the Pharisees in what he explains about divorce.  As we look at these scriptures some truths that are revealed, no matter your marital status are: You are God's Ambassador in all situations; we must take care not to interpret scriptures conveniently for this world's lifestyle; marriage is a covenant that God ordains and is truly precious; and, no matter what comes our way, God loves and cares for you - you are the apple of His eye!
